Maggie & Jarod kerr
Maggie and Jarod Kerr are young entrepreneurs currently residing in Denver, CO though Jarod is a proud Scottsbluff High School class of 2011 alumni. With business degrees from top universities and 8 years of Fortune 50 corporate experience each, they are equipped to hone their passion for healthy food and sustainable farming to launch Thirsty Roots Farm
Maggie and Jarod’s families were raised in agricultural towns and have farming focused roots, which have inherently passed on appreciation of food quality, importance of nutrition, and the resources it takes to produce food being extremely important to them. As the environment continues to change, so will the source of food; as the consumer begins to change, so will their preferences and standards. Maggie and Jarod are excited to leverage cutting edge technology to serve communities by providing fresh, local, and sustainable food all year round; starting with Scottsbluff, NE
Jim & Nancy kerr
Jim and Nancy Kerr have been dedicated residents of Scottsbluff County for 40+ years. They are deeply invested in this community and want to see it thrive for years to come. Together they have shown resilience and adaptability through growing up in traditional farming families in Iowa, navigating career changes which moved them to Scottsbluff, and raising their son Jarod; this has developed a sense of pride for self-reliance that they want sewn into the fabric of their Scottsbluff community
Thirsty Roots Farm is the newest way they are demonstrating self reliance and bettering the lives of their neighbors by helping do their part to meet the fresh food accessibility gap that often comes with beautiful midwest rural locations. Jim and Nancy are as excited as you are to taste local, farm fresh food while there is snow on the ground.
